This large family home on a 1.3 acre lot is located in the sunny Salinas valley, just a short drive from all Monterey Peninsula attractions and beaches. Situated near hiking trails, regional parks and golfing options, this vacation home is the perfect retreat for sun-lovers. Even if it's foggy at the beach, you'll still be basking in the sunshine at Rays.
Conveniently located between Highway 1 and Highway 101, this home is within easy reach of destinations from the San Francisco Bay area to the north and Paso Robles and Big Sur to the south. Closer to home you'll find restaurants, scenic drives, shopping options from mall (Salinas) to boutique (Carmel-by-the-Sea), the Monterey Bay Aquarium and historic Cannery Row and old town Monterey.
Wine lovers will appreciate the proximity to Carmel Valley's wine country, tasting rooms and winery tours. A little farther afield, Paso Robles wineries are just about 1.5 hours away.
Pull in through the gate, down the private driveway and park near the home and it's well-manicured landscape.
Living Spaces
The spacious 3,337 sf floor plan offers space for everyone. Gather together in the gracious living spaces, or retreat to the 'man cave' / den to watch some TV. The living room and kitchen also have TVs. All televisions have DirecTV service.
A welcoming entry greets guests and the sunken living room is full of comfortable furnishings, a fireplace, TV and views of the front garden.
A separate den, aka 'the man cave', is a place to kick back, relax and watch the game on the flat screen TV.
Upstairs, a bonus room includes an office workspace with desk and rolling chair in addition to more seating, skylights, a balcony and a view of a back yard seating area below and the hills beyond.
Several outdoor seating areas and whimsical Garden Art will draw you outside. Well-equipped for extended stays!
Kitchen and Dining
The chefs in your family will love the cheerful, fully-equipped kitchen where they can make delicious meals. The kitchen is made for gathering with counter seating and an additional nearby seating area, and the adjacent dining room is set for both casual and formal meals.
The kitchen has a wall oven, TV, large walk-in pantry and wonderful views of the back patio.
Outside, a gas-plumbed BBQ is on hand for grilling and the back patio seating area is a perfect place to gather for outdoor meals on fair days.
Guests will enjoy the wood burning outdoor fireplace on cool evenings.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Bedroom #1 is a large primary suite with a split king bed, small writing desk, comfy chairs, a large walk-in dressing room closet and an en suite bathroom with his and hers vanities and tiled a shower.
Bedroom #2 has a queen bed, plush chairs and an en suite bathroom with a two-level vanity and standing shower.
Bedroom #3 has two twin beds and a built-in vanity area.
The full hall bath has two sinks, a bath tub and a separate shower.
The dedicated laundry room has full-size washer and dryer and a utility sink.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. The large yard is fenced.
The driveway is gated and there is space for parking 2 cars. The garage is also available for parking one vehicle and for storage.
This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner.
Extended stays are often possible.
