Sanctuary Vacation Rentals is proud to present "Out of the Blue"! This home sleeps up to 4 guests.

This sleek, stylish home is freshly remodeled by its architect owner/builder. Out of the Blue is a 950 sf, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom vacation home that is fully-furnished and equipped for your comfort. Enjoy distant ocean views over the treetops and sunsets from your modern yet comfortable home-away-from-home.

Perfectly located outside of the bustling downtown area of Carmel-by-the-Sea but with easy access to Highway One so you will be close to all of the attractions, restaurants, golf courses and shopping experiences that the area has to offer. Just a short drive from destinations like Point Lobos State Reserve, Big Sur, Carmel Valley wine country, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, numerous golf courses and the list goes on.

Enter through the welcoming fenced courtyard with a pleasant trickling water feature and a table with large umbrella and chairs perfect for al fresco dining. The area is enclosed with attractive privacy fencing making it feel and function like another room in the house.

Living Space
The open-concept living/kitchen/dining area is sleek and modern but warm and comfortable at the same time.
The living area has a dedicated desk and chair perfect for connecting with work or school while you are away and a wifi-enabled Smart TV so guests can log into their own streaming accounts (no cable). The decorative fireplace filled with smooth stones and battery-operated candles adds a warm, ambient glow to the space.
A dining table with four chairs is positioned in front of the large windows facing west, taking full advantage of sunset views.
A glass door leads to the back deck which is another wonderful space to enjoy the distant ocean views including views of Point Lobos.

Kitchen
The streamlined but fully-equipped kitchen awaits your arrival to help you satisfy your culinary fancies. Sleek cabinetry holds dishware and small appliances like a small food processor, immersion blender and waffle maker. The kitchen features immaculate solid counter tops and stainless appliances including a compact four-burner gas stove, full-size oven and dishwasher, a compact Bosch refrigerator and a large sink.

Bedrooms and Bathroom
Bedroom #1 has a queen bed, a wifi-enabled Smart TV so guests can log into their own streaming accounts (no cable) and a view of the front courtyard garden.
Bedroom #2 has a full/double bed and a peek of the ocean.
Both bedrooms have sleek built-in cabinetry.
The shared bathroom has a tiled standing shower, Toto toilet with built-in bidet feature, beautiful solid countertops and a peek of the ocean.

A compact stacked washer and dryer are discreetly tucked away in a cabinet inside Bedroom #2.

Only one off street parking space is provided and guests must park where directed. We encourage guests to bring just one vehicle.

Sorry, Out of the Blue is not a pet friendly home.

Please note that the lower level of the home is a separate apartment with a quiet long term resident. The two units are private from one another and have separate entrances. Upstairs guests (that's you!) should be mindful not to be excessively noisy during their stay. We ask guests to move outdoor activities to the front patio after 8pm as the rear deck is situated over the lower unit's patio; and that laundry is done before 8pm, for instance.

The upper unit that you will be staying in is on the main/upper level with very few stairs and is all one level once inside.

Overall Comment

An amazing condo with exceptional view of the Pacific and Point Lobos. The place is fully remodeled and has all the modern features. One slight suggestion would be to upgrade the bed to a better quality king. Otherwise, it is 10 out of 10!

Windows to a View

Overall Comment

Spent a week in August 2024. Many positives: the view; closet space; bathroom overall including shower, sink and vanity; towels; beds clean and very comfortable; lighting was excellent; furniture was nice; indoors was very clean; and apparent the owner had taken many extra steps to furnish the home with lots of extras- remotes, light controls, a computer, cleaning tools and supplies, etc... Negatives: Carpenter St road noise ( Carpenter is the main business route into Carmel, and the road noise makes sitting the deck challenging) the deck is dirty ( primarily just by virtue of dirt, dust,leaves,etc..) and we were told nor to clean it ourselves for fear of bothering the neighbor downstairs. The toilet/ Biden was a little much for a vacation home. We’re did not want to learn the intricacies of the toilet on a vacation.would note the manual is the. Dishes overall excellent- pans- not so much. Expensive cappuccino machine - more than we wanted to learn and the separate coffee maker was small ( 5 cups) and functioned poorly. Sanctuary offered to come by mid afternoon to teach us how to use ( or turn off the bidet : it made numerous noises when someone sat down) and clean the deck at a very inconvenient time for us mid afternoon. Location is on a very steep hill- takes some getting used too.
