Felt Like a Home Away From Home!

We came down from Spokane Washington for a much needed beach vacation in Capitola. We were lucky enough to find this house as our beach rental. The house was more than comfortable and functional for three people and with its high end finishes, it felt more like a home away from home. Everything in the house was obviously thought through with fine detail and has that bespoke feel to it. On the nights we stayed in and cooked we found the kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed and the appliances are all gourmet level. The huge dining table was great for meals and also for games! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The converted garage was a nice bonus as you could have a quiet conversation in the living room while everyone else could be rowdy in the playroom. There is also an abundance of outdoor seating in the front and back. The backyard firepit was used extensively during our stay! Just a short walk down the hill and you’re in the heart of downtown Capitola and the beach. When we returned from the beach it was nice to have the outside shower to rinse off the sand. Then a quick dip in the hot tub to warm up was the perfect way to come back home. The neighborhood was quiet and well kept and the neighbors were pleasant and friendly. It was our first time in Capitola and it was charming and relaxing. We found great dining and shopping options. There are stunning walks along the cliffs of the ocean perfect for a coffee and a hike in the morning. 5 out of 5 stars we will definitely be returning to this home for another stay!

We Loved It and Will Stay Here Whenever We Visit Capitola!

We stayed at the Emerald House in Capitola in September of 2022. Everything was new and top of the line - from the kitchen appliances to the bathroom fixtures, furnishings, heavenly mattresses and bedding, lighting, landscaping, hot tub and more. It could easily accommodate 3 couples or families with children and still feel spacious. We made several gourmet meals in the fully equipped kitchen and grilled on the outdoor grill, and unlike other rentals we've been to, it had everything we could have hoped for. In the evenings we sipped wine by the outdoor fireplace and marveled at all the details of this special getaway home. The location was ideal - a quick walk to the beach and charming downtown Capitola, yet away from the crowds and noise. The house is situated in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking available. We loved it and will stay here whenever we visit Capitola.

Best Get-Away Hands Down!!!

Oh what a perfect home to have a get-away in Northern California!!! This home in Capitola is everything you would want to experience the beauty of the beaches and the Redwood forests at your fingertips. We were 2 couples and this home is just newly renovated in a lovely neighborhood just 5 minute walk down to the beach. You feel you are part of the quiet community as you stroll or bike right out of your door. The accommodations are sparkling clean and spacious with a beautiful living room and fully functional modern kitchen to prepare meals as we did some days and enjoyed in the eating areas front and backyard sitting areas. The private yard has a perfect spa jacuzzi for the end of your adventure days hiking, beaching , walking, exploring! The bedroom downstairs and 2 upstairs were spacious and for 2 couples, made it perfectly private. Best get-away hands down!!!

Thank You For An Incredible Stay!

Dustan and I enjoyed a restful and restorative retreat at the Emerald House and everything was just perfect. The location is unbeatable — right off the freeway and close to any essentials you’d need for your stay but nestled in enough that it’s super quiet and only a brief walk to get to the ocean. The house itself is pristine — super clean, thoroughly and thoughtfully appointed. We stayed in for dinner most evenings and found cooking both easy and enjoyable with all of the great equipment and ingredients available for our use. The hosts clearly know a thing or two about design and this looks like a home for an artist, not a vacation rental thrown together with discarded seconds. There’s tons of natural light, beautiful windows to let in the sea air, a big dining table which we used for jigsaw puzzles, and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Every day, we walked along the shoreline —which you can do for 20 minutes or 2 hours — with plenty of lookouts and a potential detour through town for lunch or shopping. We loved taking the 5 minute walk to the cliff overlooking the ocean to watch the sunset with locals gathering on the park benches. A soak in the hot tub under the stars was a perfect way to end the day. There are so many great things to do nearby but the house itself is so special that we found ourselves wanting to stay in and enjoy the peace and beauty. The Emerald House is one of my favorite getaways and I hope to have the opportunity to come back. Thank you for an incredible stay!
