I am a travel nurse. I ended my job in Seattle and planned a driving trip with two friends down the west coast. We stopped in Carmel for a couple nights. The apartment in Carmel was clean, very spacious and visually appealing. The location is in the center of everything. There is a restaurant on site that was delicious. I will definitely stay in the condo again.

Loved this upstairs flat near the upper part of Ocean Ave. The location was excellent for to walking to restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, the cheese store, and the local grocer. It also had nice touches like a bottle of wine, and cheese and crackers for us on arrival, coffee, tea, and microwave popcorn (which my children especially liked). There is a big construction project occurring across the street at started at 7:30AM on Monday morning, but hopefully it is completed soon! I also appreciated the containers of soaps and conditioner in the bath (no individual plastic containers!) and Britain’s water filter in the frig! Beds were comfy, too!

Perfect location, beautiful place. Loved the decor and style and amenities and the fact we could walk everywhere. Parking is first come first serve and there are only 4 spots, otherwise it’s street parking with a 2-hour limit. That was not super clear in the description. We were able to find spots pretty easily in the street but it was a weekday. Management was very fast to respond. Overall excellent!

This rental was perfect for anyone wanting to be close to all the shops, restaurants, and the beach. It actually has one of the most tasteful restaurants right across from the stairway (Carmels Hidden Gem) and a short walk to Ocean Ave for shops and eats as well as a peaceful 15 minute walk to the beach as you pass through a variety of stores and restaurants. All that to say it was nestled in a very quiet neighborhood. 5 stars across the board and would stay again.

Great place to stay, although a little tricky to find because Carmel doesn’t seem to have normal addresses! It’s close to the bars and restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Around the corner are several story book houses as well. Parking is a little tricky, but not crazy difficult.

The bed was very comfortable, very quiet for sleeping from 9 pm - 6 am. We loved all the room and the proximity to nearby restaurants and the beach. We brought our dog and walked to the beach daily. Great cable and internet. The following we would recommend for breakfast, lunch dinner and drinks. Village Corner California Bistro for Breakfast Terry's Lounge for Dinner and Martini's Forge for dinner and drinks Enzo lunch outside, We will be back.

We Absolutely Loved Our Time Here!

We absolutely loved our time here! When we walked in the first time, the soft jazz music playing was wonderful. The apartment was cozy and filled with great natural light. We loved the skylights and instant hot water in the shower especially after a lot of walking. The instructions on how to find the apartment were very clear once we got our bearings. We ate breakfast twice at the restaurant downstairs and it was wonderful. Will definitely consider this place again!

Location is great you can walk to almost everything. Unit needs a little TLC, for instance, it was warm when we went but there is no A/C. So we had to open windows. Problem is, only a few windows opened, the screens (if even there, 2 windows didn’t have them) didn’t fit right or had holes, letting spiders in. Windows were in poor condition, very hard to open and close. Hard to sleep past sunrise in the big room....skylights are great but not when they are in your bedroom. Appreciated having fans around, that helped. Appreciated the cheese/crackers/and wine. Cute place in general in a good location, just needs a little refresh. Wish parking spots were assigned for the unit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 3797 Pine Place. This is a lovely unit and gave us room to spread out a bit. It would be a little tight for two couples since you have to walk through the shared bath to get to the secondary bedroom, but it was perfect for my husband and I to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Our only issue was that the weather was unseasonably warm the first two days of our visit and it was quite warm in the afternoon and early evening. The second day the management company brought us a second fan to help.

What a pristine, beautiful and very spacious vacation rental. It is sunny and bright with a lovely kitchen. The furnishings and linens are all upscale. We enjoyed being right in town and walking distance to the beach. The location could not be better. We appreciated the extra touches such as wine and cheese waiting for us on arrival. Everything was First Class!

We had an amazing stay in this home! The location was right in the middle of the business district which allowed us to walk everywhere. Parking was actually better than we thought as directly around the property is only 2 hours during the day, but overnight you can park right in front, however as we were walking everywhere we parked 2 blocks north of the condo on the same street and left the car there for days at a time. Lots of natural light through the windows, make sure to keep your blinds closed during the day to keep the sunny day heat down, but it cools off nicely at night. Would stay again!

Very clean, but terrible shower

The unit was very clean, and in a good location. It is bigger than the pictures depict. It was staged very well, and felt quite welcoming when you first enter.
The only drawback, as others have mentioned, is the shower. It is terrible(!) The knobs are so old you almost need a wrench to turn them. My wife was unable to turn them. And when the shower was first turned on brown water flowed out. In addition, the pressure is very very low. Don't think about washing your hair, because there isn't enough water flowing to rinse it.
Parking is a challenge. If you don't get one of the 4 spots shared by the other apartment renters then you will need to move your car every 2 hours on the city streets.
There is a business downstairs that we could occasionally hear the people talking.
We would like to give 5 stars, but had to take 2 stars off because of the poor plumbing, and parking.

The parking is a challenge during the day and we do recommend to our guests that they can park a couple of blocks away and leave the car there for several days if not needed. I almost don't want to give it a review so it stays a hidden secret. A true find to be able to stay in a place this large so centrally located for the price. When you compare it to a hotel room it isn't even close. Can fit a lot of people. Utterly spotless. Comfortable beds. Walking distance to the beach and town. Parking easy. Will stay here every time I come to Carmel.

A very charming apartment in the heart of Carmel. We had no trouble checking in, the staff were very available for any concerns. The apartment was very welcoming with many windows , letting in lots of sunlight. Property was clean and ready for guests. The only downside was needed update for the bathroom.

We had a wonderful time staying here with our pups on a road trip down the coast. The pictures definitely don't do this location justice. It is much larger than it appeared and was very comfortable for four people and two medium sized dogs. Would definitely stay here again!

My family of 4 and our dog spent 2 nights here. Communication with Sanctuary was very good and we appreciated the cheese and wine welcome gift. We liked being walking distance from town. We used the kitchen for most of our meals. We were lucky to find some street parking. I suggest you check-in during daylight hours. It would have been very difficult to find the unit in the dark.

The Pine Place apartment is everything we could have hoped for in a getaway rental!! Everything from check in to check out was flawless. The unit overall has a great feel....cozy yet spacious. We we very impressed with the cleanliness-everything was absolutely sparkling clean. The linens were fresh and crisp.
The location is perfect, everything is in easy walking distance. Morning coffee, sushi dinners, strolls to the beach are just minutes away. Although it sits near the street, it was very quiet and had the most restful sleep.
Parking was convenient with a space right next to the unit.
Pine Place is definitely a well kept secret in Carmel, we absolutely would stay here again. Super impressed!

Overall Comment
Carmel is always a treat and was a perfect weeklong get away for lazy relaxation. Pine Place is just as advertised. If you enjoy walking you can park and walk to all the best of Carmel. We walked to the beach, downtown, and there are at least a dozen wonderful restaurants doing take out and outdoor dining within a few blocks. The kitchen is well outfitted. Dress warm. Carmel has a friendly winter climate but the wind is chilly and it gets cold at night. Very responsive property management. If you need anything let them know. We asked for extra blankets and a space heater and they came right away.
