Ideal for a weekend stay, the apartment is cozy and situated in the heart of the city. It's within walking distance from the best restaurants, shops, and the beach. We had a wonderful stay in Carmel. The apartment was quaint and thoughtfully put together. It’s situated above a salon down the alley between a gallery and Toro sushi (which was delicious). The town is walkable and we were able to enjoy the beach and the galleries and shops all without use of the car. It was the perfect spot to stop on our way to Big Sur and back to San Francisco. We highly recommend this apartment over the boutique hotels if you enjoy the option of cooking in.

The apartment was very cozy and clean, and we had a great time staying here. It had a fantastic location in the heart of downtown with so many restaurants and shops within short walking distance. The hosts were very communicative and helpful with any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again. The only caveat: parking was a little tough (mostly 2 hr max spots within a few blocks of the apartment), but we were able to find a spot north in the neighborhood without a time limit. Low power EV chargers were also available a few blocks away.

Amazing stay in the heart of Carmel by the sea! Rental company is very responsive and apartment was so spacious for just the 2 of us and our 4 large bags/boxes. Plenty of closet/storage space to tuck things away. Convenient walking distance to all of the restaurants and bars we were planning to visit! We were worried about only street parking but it was easy and we always found a spot within a block to leave our 2 cars. Would stay here again!

I stayed as a solo traveler, for four nights in this incredible place, and could not have been happier with the bed, the accommodations, the kitchen supplies, and the amazing location. Even though the balcony looks over a restaurant, everything ends fairly early in the evening, and the neighborhood gets very quiet. I slept great every night there. Really loved my stay and can’t wait to come back! Thank you Sanctuary for offering such a special place to stay in Carmel.

Homey, quaint, clean apartment that we called home. Superb location amongst the heart of Carmel, just above an alleyway full of galleries and a restaurant. Rain plagued our trip and spent most of our time in the apartment and didn't mind at all. Property management called to welcome us and make sure everything was in order.

I stayed here three nights with my two adult daughters. The main bed is a double and there is a hide-a-bed in the living room. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with coffee K cups and coffee filled filter inserts. They left us wine and cheese with crackers. Such a gracious touch. The only negative was the hide-a-bed was not ready with sheets but we corrected that. Lovely stay in Carmel!!

We loved our stay! The property is clean, nicely appointed and centrally located. We could easily walk to restaurants, shops etc. The staff at Sanctuary Rentals helped us quickly with our questions. Even though the sushi restaurant in the patio below was bustling at night, their guests were never loud and the restaurant closed at a decent hour. We highly recommend staying at this charming property.

The apartment is awesome and very clean. It’s located in the middle of the town and action in a hidden court that is on the list of Carmel Courts and Passages you want to explore.
We would love to rent this or one of the other Sanctuary apartments again for our vacation.

Smooth reservation and check in process with the nicest people, Keyless entry worked perfectly. The perfect central Carmel location for a short stay. Unit was cute and quaint. Might not be everyone’s style but fine for a few days. Because it’s Carmel the nearby businesses all close early which is good because you are in the middle of the action. We like that for this kind of get away. You will hear garbage pickup and street sweepers so going to bed early is a good idea. We definitely will stay here again.

We loved our stay here. It's located within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops while being hidden in a beautiful courtyard. The balcony is a lovely place to sit, and the apartment was well-furnished with everything from beach towels, beach umbrella, and beach bag to multiple coffee makers, toaster, etc. The bed was super comfortable. It was well-cleaned and all the furnishings were new. The only downside is the apartment does get hot in the afternoons and is cold in the mornings. It's an older building so the windows and doors don't always open/close that well and it's not well-insulated. All in all though, we had a lovely stay and the property management team was helpful.
