We loved our stay at Pelican Peaks. It was even better than the pictures. From the bedroom downstairs you can lie in bed and see the waves crashing on the rocks. It was very clean, super cozy and conveniently located to everything. Definitely recommend staying at Pelican Peaks!

Our family of three (two adults, one infant) absolutely loved Pelican Peaks for our visit to the Monterey area. The home itself was very well furnished - showers stocked, a kitchen full of everything you'd need, lots of streaming options on the TVs, surround sound, and a pack n play for our kiddo. The location cannot be beat - we were walking distance to the water, lovers point, etc. and a very quick drive to the Aquarium and Cannery Row. Lots of great food options nearby. Very walkable area. One of the best vacation rentals we've ever stayed in!

We rent houses a lot. This one stood out for being particularly clean, having good quality cooking supplies and having comfortable seating area for 4 around the TV. The property manager (Sanctuary Vacations) was excellent. They were very doting and responsive.
The house is surrounded by an uncountable number of beautiful flowering trees, shrubs, flowers and plants. These looked wonderful and we often found ourselves admiring them all.
The house is a short walk to the sea and to several good, neighborhood restaurants.
We'd definitely want to return to this house in the future.

Pelican Peaks was fantastic! The location was ideal for us for many reasons: walking along the trail on ocean side, taking in the all the ocean life and scenery, winding around to lovers point and the cafe/restaurant, continuing on down the trail, simply magical. The house was very clean and very comfortable, 5 star all around.

The kaleidoscopic Pacific Ocean is half a block from the front door of this cozy art filled house. In the morning a dozen or more Sea Otters catch and eat their breakfast so close you can hear the crunching.

We had a wonderful stay at Pelican Peaks. The two bedroom cottage was perfect for our family of three. The interior was upgraded, clean, cozy, and well laid out. The property is 3/4 blocks from the ocean; you can hear the smoothing waves breaking from the bedrooms. We did not cook, but did notice a full kitchen with a complete set of pots/pans, appliances (water heater, crockpot, blender, etc.), drinkware (wine, water, coffee mugs, etc.), silverware, tupperware, very modern microwave/oven, and a new refrigerator. Not that it was expected or required, except for salt and pepper no condiments/cooking oil/flour/spices etc. is provided; just noteworthy for anyone who plans to cook while staying. Location-wise, the property is very close to the ocean and 5 minute walk to both the historical part of Pacific Grove as well as the newer downtown. There is no dedicated parking on the property, but we have never had problems parking on the street in front of the property. Sanctuary Vacation Rentals was very professional, communicative, and very easy to work with.

This lovely place is just steps away from everything: the ocean, the aquarium, the local knit shop, Cannery Row....the parking is easy so all you need do is unload and enjoy. Comfy furniture & beds. A wonderful, cozy place with the ultimate location for access to all things Monterey and Pacific Grove. We were able to spend each day exploring and then "come home" to this adorable house and have dinner together at the table. The kitchen is small but updated and perfect for a family. The porches have enough privacy and still have beautiful views. My son was able to see the ocean while lying down in bed in the mornings. My husband and I took our morning coffee every a.m. down to a bench at the bottom of the hill and just gazed at the ocean and the wildlife going by. The only real issues with the house are the bathrooms. There is one shower which is crazy small and one tub which is large, but has old fixtures. And the king size bed is a futon mattress which is okay for a night or two, but since we stayed for a week, we were quite done with it by the end of the week.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Pelican Peaks. The home is well equipped, and is very close to the Coastal walking trail. The yard is quite small, but pleasant. It was just the two of us, and our labradoodle, so the size of the house was perfect. I wish that some of the windows had screens on them, as the weather was lovely, and perfect for opening the windows to let in some nice fresh air. Unfortunately, we had a few bees who decided to join us as well.

This cute house was 1 block from the beautiful coastline and 1/4 mile, easy walk to Cannery Row. It was perfect for us two couples, each couple with their own bedroom and bathroom. Kitchen was very well stocked for eating in. It might not be ideal for folks with mobility problems as stairs were somewhat steep and upstairs bath had not shower, only a step in tub with a hose. Fairly slippery. Strong internet and comfortable living room.

This getaway vacation was to show my sister and brother in law the beautiful Monterey peninsula area. The home in Pacific Grove was the perfect location as it was only a half block away from the ocean. At nite we could hear the ocean and from our bedroom the ocean view in the morning was spectacular. It was perfect as a relaxing and calming atmosphere is what they needed. They are both therapist who treat many of our veterans and th atmosphere here was what they needed to refresh themselves mentally and emotionally. Everything about and in the home excellent and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

We loved our stay at 3743 Pelican Peaks. The location was great to walk to P.G., the beach, the aquarium and make day trips to Carmel and other surrounding areas. The house itself felt very welcoming and like a family home, we enjoyed every nook and cranny of the house, glass of wine on the deck overlooking the ocean, reading books from the bookcase, DVD's at night, using the soaking tub, it as great!

This was an absolutely beautiful property! It was such a delight to stay here; we enjoyed the wonderful decor and super clean home. I'm a real neat nick, and this place truly impressed me. From the minute we walked in, it looked, smelled and felt clean. Sanctuary does an amazing job making sure the property is exceptionally clean. The kitchen is also extremely well organized and full of all the cooking equipment you could need! I also really appreciate high end appliances in a rental. The last thing I want to do is wash dishes by hand on vacation and the Bosch dishwasher worked very well. Our family of 4 greatly enjoyed our week stay here and will certainly stay at this property and with Sanctuary Vacations again. Sanctuary is easy to reach with any questions and always so friendly and helpful. Thank you for this much needed, stress free vacation!

Cute Bungalow in a Great Location

The property is in a great location in Pacific Grove, easily walkable to coffee shops and grocery store and along the nature walk. It's a short walk to Monterey for dinner or tourism. The house is very small but great for two couples or a family of 4. The only thing we disliked about the home were the bathrooms and the lack of "ease of sleep." The downstairs bathroom has a shower but the shower head is incredibly low and difficult for any adult-size person to shower comfortably. The upstairs bathroom does not have a shower, only a tub. There is a shower handle but it's not to be used like a true shower. The master/upstairs bedroom is all windows and sky lights. If you want to sleep in, it won't be happening in that bedroom as you'll be up with the sun (it literally shines directly into your eyes). In our opinion, they should greatly invest in blackout curtains for all bedrooms but especially figuring out an option for the upstairs bedroom.

Wonderful location and partial views. Property is showing some signs of wear and maintenance issues. Some minor but annoying things were not working properly. Sink faucet spray not working right, window handles loose and coming off, front gate was falling apart. Outside furniture was very dirty. For the price paid would have liked to have seen these things taken care of. Property management company was very good and responsive. Called them about the gate and within one day it was repaired to the point where it would work. Was not a very good job though.

Cozy seaside cottage

This house was exactly as described, with a comfy living room and fireplace, well equipped kitchen, and two nice bedrooms. The master suite upstairs was spacious and light and had a great tub. The fenced patio was great for our dog. But the best thing was the location, just a block from the coastline walking trail, halfway between Lover's Point and Cannery Row and the Aquarium.

Great Find and Perfect Location

This is a beatifully comfortable, cosy, very well equipped house in a top location steps away from the beach in Pacific Grove and within walking distance to Monterey.
The house has the feel of a family home, filled with books and ornaments, and every convenience for a guest has been considered, including a beach bag, beach towels and much more. It is not brand new or modern but very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The master bedroom is big with a very comfortable bed and enough closet space assigned to guests.
I chose this house particularly because it is pet friendly. My daughter was planning to join us with her dog for two nights of our 5 night stay. I was slightly shocked by the additional $100 requested for the dog, regardless of how many nights the dog is there as the propewrty is advertised as pet friendly with a price attached so I asumed that was it. I think that could be made clearer from the beginning. All in all it was a very positive experience and I would choose to stay here again.

Overall Comment
The home of course is in the perfect location with views of the ocean from the first bedroom and upstairs balcony. Parking is tight but doable. Interesting enough, the contract says not to park in front of other peoples homes, yet the whole time we were here there was a car parked in the front of the house so we had to park further away. Lots of construction going on as well which was a bother. Looks smaller in pictures then it actually is. We were very happy with the size for 4 people. Very cute and very comfortable. Beds and baths were nice and clean. Some problems were dirty dishes and cups, expired items in kitchen from 2004, broken blinds in first bedroom. Of course we could have called during our stay to have these items fixed but to us it was not worth interrupting our vacation time.The house is just perfect for a weekend getaway and we really enjoyed it!

Overall Comment
We absolutely loved our stay at Pelican Peaks. The home was lovely, and the staff very responsive and helpful. The location couldn't be more perfect: parking is a non-issue, the ocean is just steps away, the aquarium is a short walk away, the neighborhood is quiet. I would just like to give a heads up to people who may struggle on soft mattresses. Both mattresses in the home are very soft. The mattress upstairs also has a very thick topper, and lying on that bed is like sinking into soft butter. For someone who might struggle with back pain (as I do), this could be an issue. It would be great if the mattresses could be replaced with ones that are of medium firmness, to accommodate people on both ends of the spectrum (those who prefer soft and those who prefer firm mattresses). But again, stay at this home was wonderful and we would absolutely stay here again.
