Pet Policy
Pet Policy for Guests of Sanctuary Vacation Rentals
Welcome to one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on the planet. We are honored that you have chosen to stay with us. Many of our vacation rentals are pet-friendly, though an additional pet fee applies. Pets are not allowed in non-pet-friendly properties. Guests wishing to bring a pet must make arrangements with our vacation specialists. Please note that not all homes allow pets, and some properties may have restrictions on the number, size, and/or weight of the pet(s). Please call for full details.
Guests Agree To Comply With The Following Pet Policy:
- Guest will pay a non-refundable pet fee.
- Guest must bring documentary evidence of vaccination records in the event the pet bites a person or another animal, or in the event the pet needs to be boarded or impounded for some reason.
- All pets must be leashed at all times in compliance with local leash laws, and must comply with all city ordinances regarding requirements for licensing, vaccinating and leashing the pet. Pet does not have to be leashed if on the premises and in a secure fenced area, but cannot be left unattended outside, even in a fenced yard, without Guest being on premises.
- Guest is responsible for cleaning up all pet refuse, both on the premises and off the premises.
- Pets are not allowed on furniture at any time unless they are on a pet protection blanket (provided).
- If pet is bathed during your stay, it must be both bathed and toweled off outside, not in bathtub or shower. Please use provided beach towels for toweling off your pet, if possible.
- Pet must not cause damage to the premises or furnishings. If damages are caused, the cost of the damage will be deducted from your security deposit, if any, or charged to your credit card on file.
- Guest must prevent pets from producing excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors. If a neighbor complains or a report is made to police, county, city official, or vacation rental hotline, then Agent has the right to enter the premises and address the situation. If Guest is not on the premises at the time, Agent or Agent's employees have the right to hire a bonded pet sitter until Guest returns, or to stay at the house themselves to await Guest's return, and Guest will be responsible for the cost of the pet sitting or staff time plus an additional $50 administrative fee.
- Pet will not be left unattended for any undue length of time, either indoors or out. Pet will never be left unattended on a balcony, patio or porch. It is expressly understood that these areas are not for pet use and could result in injury or damage if the pet were to circumvent the area, fence or railing.
- Pet will be crated at all times when left unattended in home. Guest will provide crate at their own expense. Should guest require a crate be rented and placed in the home prior to their arrival, they will coordinate rental with their House Manager and will assume all costs associated with procurement and rental.
- If any evidence of fleas is discovered during your stay or immediately after your departure you are responsible for all additional cleaning or treatment of the home to remove the fleas or any other damages resulting from the presence of fleas at the home.
- Neither homeowner or Agent assumes any responsibility or liability for illness, injury or death of a pet, or injury to other pets or humans that may be caused by you or your pet. Should you be named in a lawsuit related to your pet, you are solely responsible for any damages or legal fees or costs associated with the lawsuit or claim for damages.
- All pets must comply with the following specifications (documentation from an accredited veterinarian must be provided by Guest if requested by Agent):
-
- Pet may not be a pit bull, or pit bull mix.
- Pet size and / or weight limits may apply.
- Pet must be at least one year old at time of your stay at the rental.
- If excessive pet hair is found immediately after your departure that is beyond what is to be expected from the average pet, you will be charged additional cleaning cost to remove the pet hair.

- Pet must be up to date on rabies vaccination and all other vaccinations. Heartworm prevention is highly recommended
